About

A milonguero from Buenos Aires, Jorge Olguin is a tango dancer, master choreographer, teacher and judge for competitive tango. In 2015, 2016 and 2019, Jorge was a semi-finalist in three categories, tango salon, milonga and waltz at the Metropolitan Championship in (B.A.) and the champion at La Cumparcita Tango Festival (B.A.). Having won several notable tango competitions and performed on countless stages, Jorge has demonstrated his unique style of movement, rich expressions, and engaging improvisation.

As a director of “Unidos pore el Tango” ballet academy in his home country of Argentina, classical dance has always been at the forefront of his life. He developed a love for Argentine tango because of its expressive movement and complexity.

For over 30 years, Jorge has contributed to teaching tango (salon, stage and folklore styles) internationally. With classes by Jorge, you will focus on a comfortable embrace, clear partner connection and exquisite technique. Jorge is an encouraging and highly observant teacher, and your classes will be memorable.

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Jorge teaches group and private classes and organizes milongas and tango festivals. In addition, he continues to inspire the tango community by giving workshops all over the world.
